You can customize how MoveTogether looks and which units it uses for activity data.

Appearance: Light, Dark, or System

Go to Settings → Appearance. Pick one of three:
  • System — follows your iPhone’s light/dark mode automatically
  • Light — always light mode, regardless of iPhone setting
  • Dark — always dark mode, regardless of iPhone setting
Each option shows a preview card with a stylized version of the app in that mode. Tap to select. Your choice is saved across app launches. A subtle haptic confirms your selection.

Units of measurement

Go to Settings → Customization → Units. Pick one of two:
  • Metric — kilometers, kilograms, centimeters
  • Imperial — miles, pounds, feet and inches
This affects how distance, weight, and height are displayed throughout the app. Steps and minutes are unitless — they don’t change based on this setting. The default matches your iPhone’s region settings. You can override it at any time.

Where appearance settings don’t reach

A few things follow your iPhone settings regardless of MoveTogether’s appearance choice:
  • System icons and accessibility text size (Dynamic Type) — set in iPhone Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size
  • Reduce Motion — set in iPhone Settings → Accessibility → Motion. MoveTogether respects this and disables animations when it’s on.
  • Reduce Transparency, Increase Contrast — iPhone accessibility settings that affect MoveTogether visuals automatically
See Apple’s accessibility settings for the full list.
