On Android, MoveTogether reads your steps, calories, and workouts from Health Connect. Your wearable’s own app shares its data into Health Connect, and MoveTogether reads it from there. On iPhone, see Connect your tracker to Apple Health.

1. Share your wearable into Health Connect

Open your wearable’s app, find its Health Connect setting (usually under settings, connected apps, or data sharing), and turn sharing on for activity, steps, and workouts. Menu names change between app versions. If you can’t find the setting, search the wearable’s help pages for “Health Connect”.

2. Allow MoveTogether to read Health Connect

When MoveTogether asks, allow access to the data types you want it to read. MoveTogether reads steps, active calories, exercise sessions, sleep, weight, and height, and never writes to Health Connect. See Android public beta for exactly what is read and how history access works.

3. Pick your tracker

When MoveTogether asks which tracker you use, choose your device. Only that tracker counts toward your rings. See choose which tracker counts.

Confirm it’s reading

  1. Open Health Connect from your phone’s settings.
  2. Check that your wearable’s app has permission to write data, and that recent steps or workouts appear.
  3. Check that MoveTogether has permission to read them.
  4. Reopen MoveTogether and refresh.
Not every wearable writes every metric to Health Connect. A device can share workouts but not steps, so it may count for one metric and not another.
