On iPhone, tap the red + button: Join with code joins a competition, and New competition hosts one. You can also do both from Compete.

Join a competition

  1. Open a friend’s invite link, use Join with code, or open an in-app invitation.
  2. Review the dates, scoring method, and participants.
  3. Tap Join Competition.
You can join on every plan. If you can’t join, the competition may be full, ended, limited to invited people, or the link or code may be out of date.

Host manually

  1. Tap +, then New competition.
  2. Name the competition, pick dates, and choose whether it repeats.
  3. Choose one of the seven scoring modes. Head to Head on steps is an easy first choice; see the scoring reference for the others. Every method is fair across devices.
  4. Choose privacy and, if you like, team mode or a group goal.
  5. Pick friends now or send invitations after creating it.
  6. Review the summary and tap Create competition.
The competition shows as upcoming until its start date. Membership and Pro can host unlimited competitions. Accounts on the older Free plan can host up to two active, upcoming, or draft competitions at a time; joining is unlimited on every plan.

Build with AI

On the create screen, tap Build with AI and answer a few questions about your group, dates, scoring, and invitees. You can edit the draft or switch to manual setup, then review and tap Create competition yourself. See building a competition with Mo.

Fair Play notice

New accounts may see a Fair Play notice instead of the create button. Follow what it asks, usually connecting a tracker and letting activity sync. You can still join competitions other people host.
