Every MoveTogether user has three daily goals: Move (active calories), Exercise (minutes), and Steps. You can edit them at any time.

Default goals

If you don’t change anything, MoveTogether starts you with:
RingDefault
Move500 active calories
Exercise30 minutes
Steps10,000

Editing your goals

  1. Open the Profile tab.
  2. Tap Today’s Activity at the top.
  3. Tap a ring (Move, Exercise, or Steps) to open the edit sheet.
  4. Use the steppers to adjust the goal.
  5. Tap Save.
Changes apply going forward. Past days keep the goal they were measured against.

Allowed ranges

You can set goals anywhere in these ranges:
RingRangeStep size
Move100 to 2,000 calories10
Exercise10 to 300 minutes5
Steps1,000 to 50,000500

Picking the right goal

A good goal is one you hit on a typical day but miss on a slow day. Too easy and the ring loses meaning. Too hard and the streak feels punishing. If you’re not sure, start at the defaults and adjust after a week. Coach Mo can help: ask “is my Move goal in the right range based on my last 30 days?” and it’ll look at your history and suggest.

What about competitions?

If a competition uses Percentage of Goals scoring, your goal values matter to the leaderboard. Lower goals make percentages easier to hit. For other scoring methods (Raw Numbers, Step Count, Ring Close Count), your goals don’t affect your competition score.
Don’t change your goals to win a competition — past days are scored against the goal that was active at the time, so lowering goals mid-competition won’t help past days, and may hurt fairness perception with your group.
