What Coach Mo can do
Have a conversation. Ask questions about fitness, motivation, your activity, or just vent about a rough week. Mo responds in your chosen persona. Remember things about you. Mo has a long-term memory system called Files that stores what you’ve told it: your goals, habits, preferences, things that have worked, things that haven’t. Files persist between conversations. Use your activity context. When AI personalization is enabled, Mo can use current activity and history, workouts, sleep and recovery, goals, streaks, achievements, competitions, weekly history, and rivalries alongside Files and the current conversation. Propose plans. Mo can propose travel, sick, busy, rest, or custom plans. A plan applies only after you confirm it. Adapt to your persona choice. Pick from Default, Drill Sergeant, Hype Man, Big Sibling, or Sports Analyst. Each one frames the same advice in a different voice. Give you a roast on demand. Switch to roast mode for a sarcastic, irreverent take on your week. It’s the same Mo, with the gloves off. Generate your Weekly Mo Report. Every week, Mo writes a personalized recap of your activity and progress, delivered as a slide-style report on your Home screen. Use relevant fitness context. When personalization is enabled and the data is available, Mo can use your activity, workouts, sleep and recovery, goals, streaks, achievements, competitions, weekly history, and rivalries to make its coaching more relevant. It may also surface a quick inline insight while you’re viewing a competition, activity, or achievement. Propose a temporary plan. If you’re traveling, sick, busy, taking a rest day, or need a custom date range, Mo can suggest a temporary plan that adjusts notification pressure. Nothing changes until you confirm it.What Coach Mo can’t do
Act without your confirmation. Mo cannot create competitions, send messages, invite friends, or broadly change app settings for you. Temporary plans are the exception it can propose, and they only take effect after you confirm them. You change activity goals yourself from the Home tab. Generate workout programs. Mo gives general fitness guidance, not structured workout plans with sets, reps, and progressions. For programmed strength training, use a dedicated tool. Use data without permission. Mo only uses the fitness context available when personalization is enabled. You can manage what Mo remembers in Files and remove that memory when you want a clean slate. Give medical advice. Mo is a coaching tool, not a doctor. It will not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or replace professional medical guidance. Modify what other people see. Mo only affects your experience. It can’t push messages to your friends, send things to a competition group chat, or change anything in your friends’ accounts. Remember other people’s data. Mo only has memory of you. Your friend’s Coach Mo is completely separate, with its own memory of them.Best ways to use Mo
- Be specific. “How should I pace my Move ring today given I’m behind?” gets a better answer than “what should I do for fitness?”
- Build up Mo’s Files. The more Mo knows about you (goals, barriers, what motivates you), the more useful its advice becomes.
- Ask Mo to look things up. “What did we decide last month about my running plan?” works — Mo will search its memory.
- Use roast mode when you need a wake-up call. Default mode is supportive; roast mode is not.
What to do if Mo gets something wrong
Tell Mo directly. “That’s not right because…” — Mo can correct itself in the same conversation. For product ideas, bugs, or rough edges, share product feedback. For account access, billing, privacy, deletion, security, or another sensitive issue, use the in-app support flow or MoveTogether support. What about privacy?
For Coach Mo text coaching, insights, and reports, Anthropic receives the relevant fitness context, messages, and report data needed to provide the feature. Direct names are replaced with placeholders, and Coach text prompts do not include your MoveTogether user ID. For the full provider-by-provider breakdown, see AI and your data.Coach Mo is an AI assistant, not a certified personal trainer or medical professional. It gives general fitness information and guidance only. Always consult a doctor before starting a new fitness program, especially if you have health concerns.
