# Direct messaging

> How to send MoveTogether direct messages and images to friends, add reactions, hide conversations, and how image moderation keeps DMs safe.

<Note>
  Direct messaging is on the Pro plan.
</Note>

## Sending a direct message

Go to a friend's profile and tap the message icon, or access your DMs from the **Friends** tab. Type your message and tap send. You can send text messages, images, and links.

## Reactions

Tap and hold any message to open the reaction picker. Pick an emoji to react. Your reaction shows up under the bubble with a highlighted background; tap the same emoji again to remove your reaction.

If multiple people react with the same emoji, you'll see a count next to it.

## Sending images and GIFs

Tap the **+** button next to the input bar for attachment options:

* **Photo Library** — pick a photo
* **Take Photo** — open the camera
* **GIF** — search GIPHY for an animated reaction

Attached media previews inline before you send. Tap send to post.

## When new messages arrive

Conversations refresh every few seconds while you're inside one. If a new message arrives while you're looking at the conversation, it'll appear without you needing to refresh.

## Hiding conversations

To clean up your message list, **hide** a conversation. This removes it from your visible list but doesn't delete it. If the person sends you a new message, the conversation comes back.

## Content moderation

Images shared in DMs are scanned for inappropriate content to keep the platform safe. All messages are subject to our [Community Guidelines](/account/guidelines-moderation).

## Competition group chat

Besides DMs, every competition has its own **group chat** where participants can talk trash, encourage each other, and share the competition experience. Group chat is on the Pro plan and supports text messages and reactions.
