# Communities

> Browse and join interest-based group chats, find people who train like you, and chat without needing to be friends first.

<Note>
  Communities are free for everyone, on both the Free and Pro plans.
</Note>

Communities are joinable group chats built around a shared goal or training style, like Runners, Early Birds, or a strength crew. They are the easiest way to meet people who train like you without sending a single friend request.

## Browsing and joining

Open **Communities** and browse the directory. Each community shows its topic and roughly how active it is. Tap one to preview it, then tap **Join** to become a member and start seeing messages. You can join as many as you like, see which ones fit, and leave the rest.

## Posting and etiquette

Once you have joined, type in the message bar to post. Communities support text messages and reactions. Keep it on-topic for the group, hype people up, and talk a little trash when a competition calls for it. The usual rule applies: be the person you would want in the group.

## Leaving a community

Open the community and choose **Leave** from its options. You will stop receiving its messages and drop off the member list. You can rejoin any time from the directory.

## Moderation and reporting

Communities are public spaces, so the same automatic moderation that protects direct messages and competition group chat runs here too. You can report a message or member, and everything posted is subject to our [Community Guidelines](/account/guidelines-moderation).
