# Personal and shared competition goals

> How Personal Goal, Stick To It, and group goals differ, who sets each target, and how they affect scoring.

MoveTogether has three different goal concepts in competitions. Choose the one that matches what you want the group to do.

## Personal Goal: each person chooses a fair target

The host chooses Steps, Calories, or Exercise Minutes and sets an allowed range. After joining, each participant is prompted to select their own target within that range.

1. Open the Personal Goal competition.
2. Choose a target in the displayed range.
3. Tap **Set my goal**.

Your daily score is your progress toward that target as a percentage, capped at 100. For example, 7,500 steps toward a 10,000-step target scores 75 points, while 10,000 or more scores 100. Until you set a goal, you score zero. Your choice locks after saving, so pick a target that is challenging but realistic. A host needs Pro to create this format; participants can join on any plan.

## Stick To It: one daily target for everybody

The host selects a metric and one daily target for all participants. Reaching the target earns one point for the day. This is useful when the goal is consistency rather than a large activity total.

For example, a group can set a shared 30-minute Exercise target. Every participant who reaches at least 30 minutes earns that day’s point, regardless of how far beyond 30 minutes they go.

## Group goal: progress the group shares

An eligible competition can also show a group target. It is a collective progress target selected by the host and is separate from the competition’s scoring method. It does not turn an individual leaderboard into a different scoring system.

Before creating, review the metric and number in the final confirmation screen. Once live, the competition detail shows the group’s progress.

## Which one should I use?

* Use **Personal Goal** when people have different fitness baselines but should receive the same reward for meeting a stretching target.
* Use **Stick To It** when everyone should reach one daily number.
* Add a **group goal** when the team should pursue a shared milestone alongside the selected competition format.
